tap water

I am really starting to wonder if it would be okay to just use some tap water that hes been sitting out for 48 hrs beforehand, filtered with carbon and the like. I live in NYC and have pretty decent tapwater. as far as I know their is a PH of 6.0-6.8, no ammonia, nitrite, and little to no nitrite. I will test it tomorrow, but if it had no ammonia, ect in it, would it be okay to use it? it would save A LOT on getting constant bottles of water delivered to us.

get a RO/DI. thats going to save you the most money. and then you wont have to worry about whats in your tap water :D

It's not the ammonia and stuff that is the problem with tap water. That stuff can be removed with chemicals. The problem with tap water is the heavy metals... that cannot be removed without filters.

Nah, tap water isn't very good. It could have all kinds of other contaminants like copper and nickel. Instead of getting bottles of water delivered to you, it's probably a lot better to get an RO/DI.
