Target feeding black sea cucumber

It's a sand sifting detritus eater, why would you want to spot feed it? Unless you don't have any fish... in which case, why would you get a sea cucumber? I have yellow ones from the Florida Keys and I never feed them. Yet they have doubled and tripled in size over a few years.

This. However they do best in large tanks with large sand beds.

Absolutely.

And in my 180g tank about 90% of the bottom is 2"+ of sand and no rocks. Most of my LR is raised up off the sand by an inch so on egg crate with pvc pipes for feet so critters that need open sand have it. It also helps with water flow (it can flow under the rocks) and eliminating dead spots.
