Tassle Filefish

My LFS has a BEAUTIFUL Tassle Filefish that I would love to buy down the road. I was wondering what peoples personal experiences were with these? Especially regarding feeding. I read on liveaquaria they need 3x or more feedings a day with meaty foods. ANyone have any input? I'd be putting him in a 55 FOWLR with all peaceful tank mates. Thanks!

Eats like a pig but I am not sure if it is with filefish I lost two tassle to them getting stuck in between isolation box and the glass..

How big is it? The tiny ones are hard to grow out. I bought one that was about an inch long. It started eating right away - frozen, pellets, anything I put in the tank. It doubled in size, then died. I wasn't emaciated or sick (that I could tell). Like Terryz, I just found him one morning stuck against the overflow. :-(

I think it's hard to satisfy their nutritional needs when they're that small.

I've always wanted to try another one, but wouldn't buy it unless it is 2-3" at least.

I lost two. I think that my auriga butterfly fish tormented it to death, because it had bite marks in it each time. I think the secret is not to get one too small. They look like algae, and some fish might think that's tasty! But they both ate very well until their demise.

I think they are not supposed to be too difficult, but watch their tankmates.

I have had two in the past. Wonderful fish! Always peaceful too. However, both of mine had teeth issueS as they got bigger. Their teeth got too big and I tried feeding them tough food with shells to help but nothing seemed to work. I got both of mine when they were about 2 inches.
