Which wave making systems would have a soft start feature and work with the koralia PH?

I think the Seio's are the only ones. But Seio will say they only work with their powerheads.

A controller is a very good upgrade for any reef tank. The RK2 and AC Jr are very popular.

I have a brand new AC Jr with temp probe, pH probe and DC8 I'll let go for $300. I bought this for an office tank that I was just told I can't have... Would be willing to work out a partial trade. LMK.

I like The seios and Koralias i think the seio controller should work fine with Koralias sinc it does not turn off the PH altogether

correct. the only current controller that will work with the koralia's is the seio controller. The koralias can't take the on and off type of controllers. The seio will just slow them down.

This sounds great but all the controllers say do not use any other pump, only seio. I really like the koralia because it works its cheap and it hasn't killed anything "yet". So has this combination of controller and pump already been used with sucess. I know they want us to buy their PH but if this combo with seio and korlia is already in use without mods to the controller please let me know. Thanx for the help !!!

One other thing the seio 620 is the smallest, it's price is great but 620 gph would blow all the rock and sand to one end of the tank.. But can they be adjusted so as not to go 100% . I've never used seio or even held one.

I don't think the Seio 620 can be adjusted so that it's not working at 100%.

I've never tried it, but I have read that lots of people with Koralia PHs do use them on the Seio controller without any problems. But like I said, I've never tried it myself

Thanks guys !! I need to talk to someone who has that combo in use , I did a search but didnt find anything conclusive yet. I've got 3 of the koralia 1's going now and if aimed just a hair off they start moving sand.

Seios have a sleeve where the water intake is that can be adjusted to control water flow. You simply dial the pump to not allow as much water into the intake as you like.

Wait... I thought that was bad to limit intake on a pump? Or was that output?

I was reading about the scwd and closed loop also . Maybe leave the koralis alone and throw a scwd in which would save me from the exspense of a controller. I've got so many ??? I dont even know where to start. Like this - do maxi jets have a screen that keeps it from sucking fish and snails in. Their cheap and flexable also the scwd timing is directly effected by pump pressure. If I just stick my hand in there and keep moving it around that might work also.

Most powerheads will have a input 'diffuser' which is basically a plastic insert that extends the area by which water is drawn into the pump. What this does is reduce the suction force by spreading it across a larger surface area. Less suction = less chance to suck something up (like a fish).

I will be hosting the Q+A at the meetings so if you find that you are not getting a fast enough response here, by all means, I can put it out there to the club at the meeting for more dialog. Flow types and methods are a great subject and I am looking to book a guest speaker sometime this year on this very topic. Fun stuff!

Just CALLED hydor usa in SAC. and their new controller is for their NEW pump line. He wouldn't tell me a price, just that the controller is only for the new pumps. Their being introduced this weekend at a show.
