TBS rock in established tank?

If you are putting TBS rock into a 215, the water volume should take care of any mini-cycle that you may encounter. Maybe do it in two 50lb steps if it is feasible. Because it is shipped in water, it is often ocean to door in less than 24 hrs. If Richard doesn't chime in on this thread, email him and get his opinion, but if it was me I wouldn't be too worried.

in a tank your size, you will most likely not even have a bump in your chemistry.....and two shipments would be best as 50# rock will weigh close to 100# with water on it...which is their minimum shipping charge......so when ready fill out online order form with comments, can fix you up as have been diving a lot lately.....as summer is on the way out here!

how about ordering "the package"? with such a big tank, i'm sure you can always add more snails, crabs, cukes, and peppermints. it's a really good deal too, and would add negligibly to your shipping costs. also, would be surprised if you didn't find some freebies with it.

Ok, the rock arrived in great condition.
I will post pictures once I can get them off of my camera.
I only found one porcelin crab so far. I did find quite a few gorilla crabs, they were wondering aroin in the bottom of the styrofoam box that I dumped the rocks into.
I know that there are at least 2 or more MS waiting to excised from the rocks. I put it all in my fuge for now. I am going to place everything tomorrow. My fuge is a 40 gallon tank so the rock wil be ok.
The rock is great! Plently of sponges, barnacles, feather dusters, and other stuff all over the place. Worth every penny.
Will order another 50lbs after I get the tank decorated and eveything is settled in. I might go with the suggestion of the package instead of just rock. The tank is currently bare bottom so I could use the sand.

I saw maybe one porcelain crab in the first 2 weeks. They can be quite shy at first. After most of the mantis shrimp got removed, they started appearing in droves. They must hide deeply in the holes because I have easily 50 in my 125 and they weren't from a spawn. I would be surprised if you didn't wind up finding several out at a time in a few weeks. Usually under slight overhangs and in-between rocks or inside holes in the evening or night time is a good time to see them. Can't wait for picks.

Richard has been doing this for a long time. I was surprised and impressed at the thickness of the bags and the way that they were shipped!! Not a drop of water leaked through to the boxes.

Looks like all the usual suspects 
Tunicates, sponges, barnacles, crabs, macro algea, etc. Just make sure you test the water daily as Richard recommends and do water changes as needed to stay below 1 ppm ammonia. You probably won't have much trouble with it, but better safe than sorry and you don't want to end up with a pile of dead rock. You could pay $8 a pound elsewhere for that privilege. :eek2:
