tds meter question

I got my TDS meter tonight and hooked it up. My yellow input hose is about twice the diameter of the other hoses. So I hooked the output correctly, and I plumbed the in side between the first and second filters since that hose fit on the TDS fitting. The first cartrige is that white flossy stuff.

So my out side goes between 0 and 3 and the input side around 260. What do you think it would read if I took the reading before any filters?

The output is the important one so I am not worried about the skewed results.

I think your "white flossy" filter is a sediment filter. Next in line should be a carbon block. Neither of these filters remove TDS, so what you are reading is essentially the same TDS as your tap water.

Although it would be ideal to measure your 1) tap water, 2) RO water, and 3) DI water, your inline meter has just two probes rather than three. Given that, most people measure their 1) RO water, and 2) DI water.
