I don't know what these things normally run, but I just picked one up at Walgreens for $15. My tap water checked at 63, after going thru my refridgerator filter it checked 53, and after the sink filter I use for preparing water for my tank it checked at 48. I haven't replaced my filter in a long time. I've been thinking of switching to RO/DI, and from the looks of this, I guess I probably should. What kind of water is everyone else using and how good is your tap water or do you even know?

my tap is 65 usually. my RO/DI is 0.0. when it gets to 1.0 I change out the DI resin. I change the primary filters every 9 months and the RO membrane every 2 years.

If you're still using tap, even if it's carbon filtered, you're just adding toxicity to your tank.

I couldn't agree more and I was completely shocked when I saw how high the reading was on the water I've been using for my tank.

I was lucky enough to win mine as a doorprize at our club meeting in Oxford, at Amy and Sandord's last year and I love it!!

An RO/DI unit is the first piece of equipment i bought - and before the tank is up and running I will also pick up some kind of emergency generator as well. In Tipton county we loose power a bit more than you city dwellers.

must use RO or the RED will come!

Yes it does. I've been fighting it for quite some time.
