TDS Problem

I've had this happen in the past and I'm not sure what to think. I use the brute containers. I was switching out my DI Resin since my TDS was creeping up to about 30. However, I had about 5 gallons left in the brute and checked that. 440!!!

It has been in there for approx. 10 days and when I leave it like that it almost smells like cat urine. I've bleached it, cleaned it. I've tried not to do anything to let contaminat it including taping around the brute when filling so I don't get any pet hair, etc... in there. After that I simply put it in a room that no one enters, no dust, hair or anything. I keep it covered. Anyone have suggestions or problems similar in the past

1: your Cat/Dog/Rat picked this as a nice spot to take a leak.

2: Moldy space and you might be having a algae problem....

I really don't think it's number one.

It stays in a cool room with really no humidity

Are you leaving the pump in there?

Nope. The tubing is not moldy either and I use it frequently enough, there shouldn't be a problem with that.

take a glass of ro/di water...test it and get 0 tds...let that glass sit a day or two and test it again...you will not have 0 tds anymore. Airborn particles will register. Molds, pollen, smoke, odors, etc. The water is like a magnet for airborn particles. I don't worry about as it causes a lack of sleep. :-)
