After installing a bulkhead and putting Teflon Tape on the threads, do I need to let it dry before running water through it? In theory, water shouldn't touch it, but just trying to be careful.
It doesn't need the teflon tape, however I always put a little on the threads, it makes it easier to remove the nut later. Way back when I was young, I worked with a master plumber, who explained pipe dope, teflon tape and other related items, they are not always needed to seal, but they prevent corrosion from bonding the threads together. If you have ever tried to remove a pipe that had no sealant on it after many years under ground, you would see why it is is a very helpful invention. I teflon all fittings that have threads. Bulkheads especially, if you have ever had a bulkhead spin and had to cut it out, you would teflon it too.
