TEK LIGHT T-5, 48" opinion

Those prices are for the ATI sunpower, and are not listed on reefgeek.com, Greg had posted them in his forum.

Great thread fredflinstone you a stirred up some questions of my own, so I hope you don't mind if I borrow your thread for a bit.

How many white bulbs (10k; 6500k; ect ) would you use on a 6 bulb fixture. Also, what are the advantages of the pink and purple bulbs.

Initially, I thought I would set up my Tek fixture with 3 10k bulbs and 3 Giesemann POWERCHROME Pure Actinic 420nm 54watt. Could anyone point out any possible issues with this bulb configuration?

Thanks,

If you are keeping/or planning on keeping SPS, then you wouldn't want that many Pure Actinic's they aren't very high in PAR. You would want to look at the Actinic+'s, they are much higher in PAR and fall around 460nm, so they are a blue bulb with some actinic phosphors to help make your corals pop.
You might want to look at something like a UVL actinic white or KZ FP to help pop pinks & purples (would only need one in a 6 bulb configuration).

IMO just changing the bulbs w/o getting individual reflectors is not going to give you the kind of light you want for your corals now and in the future.
