tek lighting

I have 48" tek t5 8 bulb fixture on my 90 and really like it. One complaint that I have is the plastic lens is very loose and takes some time to get in place after cleanings.
 
sold I'm going to go for the 8 lamp instead of the 6. I'll be selling a Hamilton 48 inch VHO setup and 2 250watt Hamilton MH's. My tank is built into the wall and I can't raise the lights to regulate the heat transfer.
 
you will not regret geting the 8 bulb you get better covrage front to back then the six there really not a big heat diffrence between them the tek runs very cool suprisingling i use to sit mine 5 inchs off the top of the water with no heat problems at all. the reflectors are the best german polish reflectors you can get . not sure on the ballist but i never had a problem with mine. the cords are super long witch is great we all know how much short cords suck big time. but overall the tek 8 bulb is a winner in my book. if you want to get good look to you coral but have the grow power with you selection of bulbs . go to the t5 form on here im not sure what the guys screen name is on there but if you post he will awnser he is amazing with the knowlage of bulbs for color and grow effect. i highly sugest you look into that.
 
Check premium aqautics, there was a thread on their RC forum about tek. They are supposed to release a version with active cooling. Keeping the bulbs the correct temp will increase par and bulb life.
