Tek t5 lighting

Hey everyone i am looking over some lighting choices for my 75 gallon. I am looking to spend 300 bucks on a new system. I would just like to be able to keep softies, lps, and an anemone. I found a tek t5 lighting fixture that is under 300. It is the 48" 4x54watt t5 ho unit, with individual reflectors. Would this fixture be good enough for the corals and even the anemone? i would assume the softies and most lps would be fine, but a BTA for example, would that need more light?

let me know what you all think/experiences you've had.

You think an anemone like a BTA would be able to thrive under just 216watts of t5?

Yes

Mine does just fine under 4 24 watt t5 bulbs.

my gbta did fine under 120 watts of pc. why do people underestimate t5's. i have a 6 bulb tek and have plenty of sps they look GREAT!

...under my 4 x 39 watt Tek unit. This was originally under PCs, got huge, has spawned, split, and this is a pic from 5 months ago. I've had this BTA for exactly two years this month.

you must be lying! it grew and split under T5 lighting? I thought BTAs could only do that under metal halides.

You could keep a BTA in a bucket with a 13w energy saver bulb.

216w of T5 is more than enough.

My GBTA easily doubled in size in a year under T5s. It's never split, but I don't think that's related to lighting. I kept softies, lps, 3 croceas and some sps under my Tek T5 for about a year. I recently switched to MH/T5 combo, mostly for the shimmer and ability to keep higher light demanding acros.

Dude, i got a T5 HO from reefgeek, 6 x 54watt on my 55gal, and i can keep anything under it.

I have not tried SPS, yet.
