Ok, so photoshop cs is very similar to PSP, so working it is not really hard.

My question is, I downloaded the 2.2 raw converter for PS and it works ok, but I used zoombrowser just now and sent it to PS and think it worked better.

Also, how do I set white balance in PS against a card or something. Thanks.

A few links to good sites might be nice as well.

Did the converted picture look better- or was it easier to use? You know what they say... whatever works for you...
I've always found the Canon software to be clunky and buggy so I stopped using it completely several years ago. A lot can happen in a few years so maybe they finally figured things out. The Adobe converter works ok- I'm not crazy about it either though the CS2 version is good. I still like Capture One best- the results are excellent and it's very easy to use.

You can set the white point in the editor by going to image>adjustments>levels [or curves] and selecting the white eyedropper, and then clicking on something white in the picture. Setting a white balance is done in-camera or in the raw converter, via the color temperature slider, tint adjustment and/or with the wb tool (top left of the screen- first eyedropper). If you use a white card (or 18% gray card) it's the same process- using the eyedropper you click on the card to tell the converter to base the colors on a known value [white or gray]. Then you can fine tune it via the color temp and tint sliders. I just did a google search with "white balance photoshop tutorial" and came up with tons of useful articles. Take your pic :p
