I have recently came into a problem with my heater, its not sticking anymore. It seems the suction cups have lost there suction!! What are some ways you guys have gotten your heaters to stay put.

Most likely my heater is not sticking also because of the algae growth on the back of the tank, there is very little visible but Im sure its a not so dry slimy surface back there on the back wall of the tank.

clean off the cups and use a razor to clean the algae off, works good for me, if the cups are old you may need new ones

Yeah, not sure what kind of magic you are expecting :D But clean the backwall and suctioncups or buy new ones (Just like scrmbld33 says).

Just get some new cups and clean the glass. Try to get the silicone type and not the rubber ones.

I just let my hang. Suction cups generally don't last very long in a saltwater tank. Is it a fully submersible heater? Another trick you can try is to silicone the suction cups to the glass. If you need to remove it later, a razor blade will do the trick. You'll have to empty the tank down to the level where the suction cups will be, though.

I gave up on the suction cups ages ago, I just drop it in my sump.
That's what I also do. One less piece of equipment in the display tank.
