Temp controller 7028/3

Hi,
I have two Tunze 7028/3 temperature controllers, one for heaters and one for a chiller. For the last couple of days the one connected to the chiller is making a loud crackiling noise when it turns on ( the noise is coming from the 7075.12 unit) I have tried swapping the 7075.12 units around but it still makes the same noise. Any ideas? as it does not sound very safe when it turns on. Is it the temp controller itself what is faulty?

Thank you John....

I would not know for sure. The US temp controller is different enough that it is hard for me to compare, the US Farenheit model for 115V has a different circuitry. The upper limit is 1800W but if that was exceded the fuse should blow, perhaps their is a bad connection, I assume you have a British to European plug adapter or two?

hi,
I have even tried swapping the adaptors ( European to Uk ) still makes a noise. The connections are all okay. Im just puzzled as what to do now. I will have to try Paraquatics in the Uk next to see if they know.

Thank-you for your help,
John.

You might also ask someone at Tunze in Germany. It sounds like the relay may not be robust enough for the load? That is the only thing I can think of. I am puzzled though because the fuse should blow if it is overloaded.
