temp probe calibration?

I am moving my expansion box to a remote location, however it has a temp probe attached to it, and it's my one and only temp probe for the profilux(main unit doesn't have a temp probe.)

when I first connect the temp probe to the main unit, it read at much lower temp, so I assuming each temp probe is calibrated with the particular unit is ship with??

Now I will like to connect the temp probe to the main unit so it will remain in the same place in the sump. Do I just write down the calibration data from the expansion box, and copy it over to the main units data using the pc software?

My understanding is that the temp probes do need (and shouldn't be done) calibration. The few "Temp Probe" issues I've seen on the forums have always been due to an insufficient plug to socket connection. I experienced this first hand and also "manually" adjusted the temp probe settings with the ProfiLux software. Once I removed the plug from the socket and made sure it "clicked" into place I had to go back and remove the manual adjustments.

I'd suggest removing the Temp Probe and replacing it making sure the connection is solid and not loose in any way.

Reply back and let us know the outcome :)

so I should be able to use the same temp probe on different units and all should display the same result then??

ok.. I switched the probe over from the expansion box the the main unit, and I have found these:

- I have to hold the plug in certain angle to get a reading.
- temp reading slowly go from 75 degree to 78.9, and once it's over 78.9, screen display "***" as if it's out of range(temp at 80.)

Is the the common symptom of not inserting the plug fully??

There is a definate "click" to the insertion of the temp probe, last thing you want is it falling out. The error if not inserted all the way is false reading and ***

I will be floating about to moderate and to post announcements only.
