temp probe problems on AC Jr... please help!!

I recently purchased a used AC Jr and I finally got to programing it tonight with the help of a friend...

All was well for a couple of hours and all of a sudden the temp was jumping up to 90 on the Ac unit using the temp probe!!!!!!!!!... BUT all of the other 3 thermometers on my tank were showing the temp to be around 79.5.....I read about calibrating the temp probe, but if I calibrate it according to the 3 thermometers all showing 79.5...I will have to calibrate the probe over 10 degrees down!!!!! What is going on??? Is the probe bad??? What should I do???

Ok, I just checked the tank again and the AC Jr unit is reading the temp at 94.4!!!!!!!!!!!other thermometers are all showing the temp to be about 78.9... WHAT do I do????? Please advise!!

Sounds like a bad temp probe. If you unplug the probe it should show around 20 deg.

Maybe some kind of electrical interference? Pull the probe out & stick it in a cup of water with another thermometer & see what happens.

ok, will try these things...if I need a new probe where can I get one??

I would assume Neptune would have them, but most online retailers that carry Neptune products should carry them as well

ok, I took the probe from the AC Jr and the other digital temp probe that I have both out of the tank and put them in just a cup of cool tap water...the AC probe is showing a temp of over 20 degrees higher than the regular digital probe!!!!! This can't be normal...dang!
