Temp too high

I have my 120 up and running but when i have the lights on the temp goes into the low 80's up to 83.x degrees. I have two 250w halides with spider reflectors mounted inside the canopy. In the tank are two koralia 4's and a mag 12 return pump. I need to keep the temp more regulated so I can move the fish and corals from the old tank into the new one. Is there a way to keep it cool without adding a chiller? Just don't have the cash for one right now. I tried removing the lids to allow for some evaporative cooling but that didn't seem to make a difference. Any idea on how to keep it better regulated. When the lights are off the temp goes back into the upper 70's where it should be.

i would keep the lids off to allow for gas exchange. do you have any fans in your canopy? you can also have a fan on your sump it will help.

i used one very similar to ^ on an open-top nano w/ a clip-on halide & the fan alone made for a 3-5 degree temp difference

All this will only make you sad. You need a chiller. The fans. The gimmicks. I promise you will end up coming to the realization that you need a chiller.

83 is not a bad temp you will have no problems even if it gets to 85, people for some reason focus more on temperature and less on how much of a temp sing happens in a givin period.
