temp

so my ac jr says my tank is 77.8 degrees and my chiller's thermometer says it's 80. grrrrrrrrr.

so should i get a mercury themometer and see what the real temp is?

Joey,

I went through this too. I bought several different types of thermometers and compared them and all of them were not consistent with one another. You won't ever know the real temperature to calibrate your ACjr too unless you have an expensive thermometer like what is used in a chemistry lab.

(you can probably find an old thread in the search where i discussed this more in depth)

The best thing to do is keep you water temp consistent and above 78 degrees. Consistency is the key as long as you are in the 78-82F range.

I agree with the consistency, but not sure it has to be above 78 degrees. I to try to keep mine between 77F - 80F.
