Temperature

Morning, just wanted to ask, we are having mad heat at the moment in UK. (unusual isn't it?) it is having an affect on the water temp. It's up around 25.8 degrees Celsius. Should I get concerned by this? I normally run at 24 degrees.

I'm in the UK too although it doesn't feel like it, mine usually run between 25-26c so I wouldn't worry. All my fish are in QT at the mo which hit 27c yesterday, I just took the lid off and replaced with eggcrate then pointed a fan at it and it soon came back down

Your tank can deal with temps up to 29C more or less. Just try to keep the heating and cooling in a fairly narrow range per day. Not more than a 2 or 3C change in 24 hours

I was also wondering how my Mexican turbo snails might cope with these temperatures? I know they are from cooler waters and they have been doing fine at around 24C for the last 6 months or so but will they struggle if this heat wave persists without some attempt at cooling the tank on my part?

The water in mexico is pretty darn warm..
I wouldn't be concerned with 24 deg C at all..

And even so.. Its a cheap snail.. If it dies well then no big loss there..
They will all die eventually..

Yes they will have a difficult time in the warmer temperatures, but even 24 degrees C is high for them. As Ron posted, 28.5 or even 29 degrees should be fine unless you have a large fish load. Blowing a fan across the water surface will help cool the tank substantially.
