Random Aquarist,
At elevated water temperatures a fish’s metabolism speeds up the demands of oxygen. Saturation of oxygen at elevated temperatures is often difficult to achieve with the bio loads we place on an aquarium. Although reef fishes can handle elevated temps of up to 85º the conditions of higher temperatures, less oxygen and high bio loads are stressful to fish. In our Directors 25 years of experience in keeping reef marine fishes he has been the most successful at keeping healthily specimens at the listed temperatures.
