Temporary C-Sea Site Up

Okay folks, couple of things first before I point you to the link:

1) In a few weeks I hope to have a brand new site similar to one these these, which I think everyone would like more, with tons of features, very robust, etc.. http://www.cmas-md.org/ or
http://www.masna.org/,

(Please check these out and let me know if you agree!!!!!)

2) Until then, I threw this rough one together, and it is embedded in another site of mine, since we don't have our c-sea.org domain back yet. Again, this is rough/crude/minimal functions, BUT, it at least gets us back online as a club.

3) The forum is VERY buggy, do NOT do a reply to a post, you have to just do posts, sorry, I'm working out that problem there. You can submit new posts that reference other ones in the meantime.

4) The home page will be visible to everyone; when I rebuild it entirely, the Members page and links will require names/passwords, since there will be members-only benefits in there.

5) SEND ME CONTENT!!!! Anything, pics, history of the club, whatever.

I asked some of the officers already to help put together updated sponsor list, local stores, just a ton of stuff that you will see no links to yet, or minimal content. When I get the new site out, I'll get stuff transferred to it that we get going on this one. I'll also be putting a library page with the current 'stock'.

6) So I could go on with disclaimers, but, being as I started this Friday night and just want to put something out, I hope it will be of some use for a couple weeks. Please send all feedback/ideas/suggestions/whish lists to me. There is a lot already that folks want, it will just take a bit of time each day to get stuff on the table already built in.

C-SEA SITE

thx..

That site looks real nice. You seem to have all the bases covered. Very nice work. Hope you guy's don't mind this CORA member putting his 2 cents in.

Looking good..
Where do I send my membership form to..

I sent a note out last night asking that question, I 'think' it would be Paul P or Peter C, but have to hear back. That form isn't accurate right now obviously.

Also, if you guys test out the forum, post your name or RC name if you could in the form. And, the timestamp isn't working for some bizarre reason..

thx..

Wow thats a amazing start It looks real professional not like a 3rd grade school project site like the last one the club had. Im so excited by the positive directon that seems to be happening in less than 2 weeks. Looking forward to the future.

Hey Pete,
I thought the previous site was very nice looking with a different-style layout than every other site on the web and nice graphics for each page header. I also think Amy will do a nice job with the new, permanent site but don't want to take anything away from the last volunteer webmaster. We just needed more frequent updates.

Paul was in a bad situation with limitations because of access issues and all that, carry over from before him that he was stuck with. The work he did on it was good though. I'll leave it to you guys to tell me what, and, if I'm slow, give me a pounding!

(jrsoprano ..Where do I send my membership form to?).

Totally blanked out on the membership thought..it is Mike Canterbury, the Mem. Chairman, John J got me his address. I will PM you his address until I get the form updated.

thx!!

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but blue lettering on a black background is difficult for me to read. Dark letters on a light background are easier for me, there are probably many other combinations that would work too.

Other than that, the site looks good to me.

Tom

Hi All,

I agree also, the blue lettering is very hard to read against the black background. I like the look of the new site, keep up the good work.

Dave

Agreed on the dark colors, I meant to change the hyperlink colors the other day and forgot, will do some cleanup later today.

Also folks, please look at those 2 sites I mentioned above. Do you all want a site like that (that kind of look?) The forums, user account/management of your accounts, search functionality will be awesome with it. So yes, I'm going to do that, just curious about the overall 'appearance' since Kevin mentioned the C-Sea site was always unique looking, not like 'all the rest'.

Thanks!
