temps in the tank

I have a 225 tall and have started to add soft corals, I have 2 250w MH and all seems to be going good. My question is about the heat. I do not have chiller yet, but the temp goes from about 81 in the mornings to 83-85 on a hot day. Is this going to be a real problem? What is the highest safest temp it can reach?

my tank has got up to 83 without any problems and i've heard of others that have there tank at 85-86 all summer, but i would shoot for 80, try to run a fan over the sump, that will cause alot of evaporation but i don't mind that way i can dose more kalk.

be very careful cuz one persons luck is anothers big problem.. if you have alot of money invested in your corals you might want to do everything in your powers to lower the temperature. Fans, a/c, fans and more fans and as a last resort a chiller if possible.. i dont like my tank to get over 80 but before i had a chiller it got as high as 83 with minimal stress..one thing is that the temp should be steady no matter what it is... 2 degree up or down...

I would say 84F is max safe range. I never had any problems
80-84 F.

Around 86 F corals have died in my experience.
