Holy crap it's been a long time since I have updated this thread...

The tank has come a long way. The fish and corals are thriving. Since I last posted, I have moved the sump the the basement, finished the stand, and made various other changes to the tank:

Does your gyre suck air at that height in the tank?

Not at all.

My gyre 150's whirlpool air at that height. I have low flow through the sump and I use my gyre's for in tank flow. Tried them that high without success. Had to move down to 10 in below the surface and I'm not getting as much surface turbulence.

I like the surface turbulence your achieving.

Which T5 bulbs are you using?

ATI bulbs, Two Coral+, 1 Blue + and one Fiji Pink.

If the Gyre is sucking air, maybe the cages need to be titled downwards more?
