ive recently tried salifert for kh and it comes with testing solution to judge the test kit im using it tilo i find something better.

I would use Salifert or API kits.

If your starting a new tank you will need.
Thermometer
Refractometer & calibration fluid
handheld PH probe w/ calibration fluid or a ph test kit
Plus the following test kits:
Ammonia
Nitrate
Nitrites
AlK

If your planning to keep a reef tank you might as well go ahead and pick up some additional test kits:
Magnesium
Calcium
Phosphate

I don't know about the accuracy of the Red Sea kits, but I found the instructions, and the number of steps required to be more complex and time consuming than API or Salifert tests (not all of the kits, but most of them) I replaced most of my Red Sea tests with API or Salifert.
