Going to MemFish today to pick up a few Salifert test kits.I was thinking Ammonia,Nitrate and Nitrite. Are those the main ones I need for the cycle testing?

BTW Im sorry I keep posting so much.I have a constant internet presence (laptop-cellphone).Im just excited and knowledge poor..Ill calm down soon I'm sure. Thanks to everyone for being so patient.

Yes that will do you for now, but what i would do is take it to your lfs and let them test it after it has been running about 2 weeks, save your money to buy Alk. Cal. Mag. test kits after you get your new tank full of coral and fish. Your local store should be more than happy to test it for you. They are more ready for your tank to cycle than you are. lol

Yeah, Memfish charges $1/test I think. I defintiely wouldn't spend the money on Salifert kits for the purpose of seeing when the cycle is over. API kits or even something cheaper would be more than sufficient.

I have an API kit and some Salifert. I can say that you will get faster results on Salifert when testing Nitrates. You'll spend a little more time with the API, but I have no complaints with the kit. I use API the most.
