Turn off your power heads/ sump/ and closed loop and anything else that may cause flow in your tank for 12 hours per day, run your lights for 18 hrs per day, over feed, and use tap water. If that doesn't work remove any members of the clean up crew and add a atleast 40 lbs of dry uncured rock :D

1. Maroon Clowns are the most docile clowns you can buy. They should be purchased in groups no smaller then 9.

2. Clown, Queen, Titan, and Undulate Triggers are the best peaceful community reef safe fish you can buy, and should be housed together in any tank over 10 gallons.... If your not going to buy all of them don't buy one because it will become aggressive if the only peaceful trigger in the tank.

3. All reef tanks should be treated with copper meds from day one.

4. While mentioned before I feel it should be brought up again... Do not buy high powered lighting no matter what you do, it is a waste of time and money. Simply place your tank in a room with a window and everything will be fine.

5. Use tangs to cycle a tank, they are cooler and hardier then damsels and no one wants to remove a tang from their tank unlike damsels so your saving money already :D

6. Sacrifice the most expensive fish you plan to buy before putting water in your tank. It is bad luck to try to have everything survive, by killing your most expensive fish your proving your worthy of being in this hobby.... also it gives you some good food for your 1st coral :D

7. Only use RO/DI water for cleaning your light covers, anything else is just silly.

8. If you have children allow them to always feed the tank themselves w/o supervision. You want to prove to them you agree they are responsible enough to handle the task.

9. Always wear rubber soled shoes to prevent electricution. Grounding probes and GFCI's are totally over rated and just another gimick to get into your wallet!

10. There is no such thing as a nuicence algea... except Chaeto.
