I ordered (8)-30# bags of Aragamax and (2)-40# bags of speacial reef sand from Foster and Smith last night. Shipping cost was $16.99 for all. They sent an email that had it broken into 10 different tracking numbers (none of them had any info yet, so I hope that's not a bad sign). The shipping costs page showed the $16.99, then $340 something for expedited (3-4 business days), $470 or something for 2-3 day and $800 something for overnight. I thought it was interesting to see the huge jump in pricing. I guess as long as it is shipped ground (7 business days) they stick to the super low shipping costs... I was afraid I'd be spending more in shipping than in sand.

It's nice how foster and smith base shipping prices on your cost of order not on weight or how many boxes they use. It made my salt and vho bulb shipment a real money saving deal! I always get my reef crystals from them.

WOW overnight for $800!??! I could fly up there and get it for you cheaper in one day i think. I guess we are talking about 320 lbs. That might go over the 50# per checked baggage limit.

As a licensed pilot, I'll go with the $800.00 shipping cost, rent a plane, fly there, get it, and come home and still show a profit!
Just let me know, I'm a giver, I always give!, but just to the club.
I would not make this offer to just anyone
