i think some time ago, people started calling *all* blue zoos 'tubbs'. it's just as possible your previous ones were or weren't true 'tubbs' as it is for these.
we have a blue variant that's been floating around bburg/roanoke for a long time that came in as a wild colony to Z that i've seen people call and sell as 'tubbs'. i personally think it's a better variant because the skirt turns bluish-gray and not just brown like all the true tubbs pics i've seen.
and even if they are the same, different tanks will give them different appearances so it's too early to say one is brighter than the other till it fully settles into your tank.
