Ok so the line on the tubes is supposedly 5ml. How come when I use a syringe and fill it with 5 ml does it go above the line. Should I just fill it to the line? Just tried this this morning trying to make my testing more accurate. Now I’m confused lol.
Not sure how far above it goes, but when the water is in the tube it will form the bowl shape and the level should be read from the bottom of the bowl (also called the Meniscus). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meniscus
A lot of times people fill syringes thinking that the liquid must hit the 5mL line... but in fact just air is at the top, the remainder of the 5mL is below the 0mL line in the syringe tip. Was that the issue?
