Tetracycline hydrochloride- pure tetra?

Hi,

I have a bacterial infection on my shark that I need to administer tetracycline to orally immediately. The only tetra available is Tetracycline hydrochoride. There is no comma between the tetra and the hydro so I assume that it is pure Tetracycline. But I dont want to assume so im asking.

I went down to the pharmacy and was told that it is a pure form of tetracycline and have administered it.

There are newer antibiotics that work much better than tetracyline, for example minocycline. Mardel sells it under the brand Maracyn2
