Texans, lets get going on this forum

Well, since we aren't in California, I can't give you comparison pricing. Salt purchased at our LFS can range in price, and I believe it is quite a bit more expensive here. For example, Kent Sea Salt sells for $64 for a 200g bucket. However, IO is more like $30something for the 160g bucket.

I've not lived in an apartment in 20 years, but I think decent ones are going to be $800 or more per month. I bet you could go to ApartmentLocators.com and find specifics.

The DFWMAS message board gets much more activity than this forum here, and you'll get tons of input. Just go to dfwmas.org and register to use the board, Chris.

I am in Austin Texas and am setting up a new 58 gallon. I am in the hunt for sugar grade white sand. Something like what used to be Southdown or currently Yardright. I wonder why it is so difficult to get?? I am starting to think that its colombian look-alike is easier to get! :)

That stuff is available on the east coast. There has been some testing of a kind of sand you can get at Home Depot now, but I've not read any replies recently to that thread and I don't remember the brand name.

FYI, there's a new club forming in your area. www.austinreefclub.com

Yes, I did read about the sand that was being tested...wasn't it pulverized something? I also did just join that club, so we'll see what the austinites can come up with. Thanks.
