"Tha Bag" and Phos media

Hi All,

I've read that the various PO4 removal media is relatively fine and difficult to contain. I am making a DIY reactor, and was wondering if anyone has tried using The Bag to keep Rowaphos or PhosLOCK in?
I understand these two are about the finest, and rather than use filter floss media, would like to cover the inlet/outlets of my reactor with The Bag, which is ~180 micron.

Or, I've got an extra large Filter sock I could cut part off and use that.
Any suggestions? And is the consensus generally that the PhosLOCK works as well as if not the same as ROWAphos?

Thanks

I have The Bag and it is very fine. It is the only thing that would hold the SeaChem Purigen. I think you would be fine with almost anything as long as its not a powder.

I don't know that you need to add filter socks at the end of the flow lines. I run PhosLOCK in a small reactor with just enough flow to make it slowly move around and before I put it in the reactor I rinse it pretty good in a tall container so that minimal amounts of the media is lost. Good luck, Tim

Thanks!

The thing is I don't know how fine the Rowa or Phoslock is. But I will go with Phoslock or ROWA and The Bag.
