ok I am just on my way to work and I wanted to let you know that my nitrate has dropped . it is now showing a reading of.5 not to bad. any way my skimmer still is clear. amonia has dropped and is undetected levels. thank god. slowly started to put everyone in. I am letting the real sensitive ones stay in the kiddie pool until there is a reading of zero. I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time out of your day to help andanswer my questions.

no worries it was my pleasure. remember dont panic when you see issues(corals not looking right)......wait till the next day and reevaluate....9 time out of 10 the issue is gone ( coral now looks fine). to avoid any additional nitrate issues stop dosing any coral filter food for now. this maybe where your issues are forming from. i remmeber once vin speaking of how he concluded in the past that the coral/filter food that he was adding was the source of his past algea problem. in any case this will help get things in order for now. once things are stable you can start dosing food again slowly. lastly make sure that skimmer is working 24/7 in most cases even one day of not operating can cause issues due to bioload. you have to get that skimmer staying in good operation at all times. i have a feeling that in a week or two (if you do the above and continue small water changes when nitrates spike over) your issues will be resolved.
