I was able to visit Teresa's (dexterd) seahorse breeding setup yesterday. All I can say is "WOW!" The ponies in her care have all the best - the best water, the best food and her undivided attention. She has poured an amazing amount of money, time, research, thought and effort into this endeavor. Thanks Teresa, for allowing me to visit!
So of course, this (and the fact that I recently emptied my 58g reef) makes we want to check back into the possibility of getting some potbelly seahorses. I have a 36" & and 48" stand. Does anyone have a tank of any kind that will fit one of those stands, but is at least 30" tall? The 58g I currently have is only 21" tall.
I've checked into the usually available aquariums. I'm expecting this to be all but impossible to find. What is everyone's opinion on custom making an acrylic tank of this size?
And, one last question. Where is the best place to find square pin power compact replacement bulbs? I have a 2 bulb reflector from Current, which has the dual actinic, and dual daylight bulbs. Both have burned out before even being a year old. Checking around locally has led me to believe it will probably be cheaper to replace the entire reflector than just the bulbs. Anyone know of a better online place for bulbs?
Thanks for letting me pick your brains, and thanks again Teresa, for allowing me to visit.
