I really appreciated you telling us about the purple hornets, coordinating the arrival at your home, having them fragged (thanks to Travis on this one too), and keeping mine for several weeks until I could manage to get by your place.

I got them home and acclimated them and they were open this morning!!! They look great, just like the pictures online. Sorry I can't post a picture but I just don't have the best camera to get it all in focus. My sister can't wait for them to grow so she can get one.

You told me hi-flow last night, do you or anybody that has some have any other suggestions to keep them happy. My tubbs blues melted away once and I would hate to do something to these. Is anybody target feeding them?

Put them in a higher flow area, don't blast them though, and give them good light. they were under 400 w halides before we got them. So they can handle it.

Ah, this is probably why mine haven't colored up much yet. I was giving them indirect light because they are supposedly a "deep water zoa" and that's what others suggested. I moved them into the top 1/3 of my tank - hopefully being 8" or so from the 24W PCs in my biocube will be good enough.

And ditto what Lori said, thanks for everything Adrian. Even aside from the hornets, from what I've seen you're a valued member of this forum community. Heck, if I were club president, I'd forget the past and make you an honorary member of MTRC. Oh well, maybe next year*. ;)

*A joke. Not meant to suggest any future plans for candidacy.

Mine fell behind my rock work. It gets low flow and low light par is about 95-175. And looks great when i can see them. I have 3x250w hqi 8x39w t5 in a 135long tank. If you have pc of t5s I would keep them high. Hope this help you guys.

thanks for doing this for local reefers

They are sensitive, especially being from a somewhat new wild colony.

the main key is to not disturb them once you get them set.

Nice looking blue hornets Zef. Mine are still mostly purple, but if you look close at them with magnification, you can see the alternating skirts and where the ring will be. They are sitting 10 inches from the surface with medium flow.

Still the same colors, but I did notice a baby this weekend! I will let you all know if that one colors up faster.
