do gigas get blue spots when they get big mine has none. but its really green and purple.
Hi,
I got this Gigas when it was maybe 1 1/2" long.I chose this one over some others that the store had, because of the vivid blue spots. It definately seems to have gained more spots,as it has grown though.HTH,as for age & size,I've had it for about 2 1/2 years & would say it is about 11" in length.

Here's mine...got it very small and it has been growing great and is as happy as a (well) clam it would appear.

I think that is the ONLY crocea I have ever seen that I actually want. I've been called a Maxima snob because I don't like other clams. However, yours is right up my alley. Here's a shot of my Maxima from last night.

I'll admit, I'm a Maxima snob also. I can't keep them, but they are my favorite. Derasas are the only ones I don't kill.

My first ORA Clam. I dont know what to call it. I have had it for 5 months and it has almost tripled in size...
