That Pet Place trip anyone?

I was really hoping to head up to that pet place to take advantage of their Terrific Tuesdays %30 off one item coupon and pick myself out a brand new tank. My car has its check engine light on now and the other person who was hoping to go up has to work. Was any one planning on going up? Hopefully someone with a decent size vehicle to carry a decent size tank?

I didnt even see your post but i drove all the way up there from smyrna Tuesday and Wednesday!!

I bought a 180 and a stand and could only take one home at a time lol.....

Did you look at their corals?? What the heck? Iv been there maybe 7 times in 2 years.. iv never seen their corals look so bad... i hope the weekend sale wiped them out and left only the bad corals.
 
You should have been there the week after Christmas. They probably had ten marine fish and not too many corals. They must have been whipped clean before Christmas and then not received any shipments due to the holidays.

I'm still hunting for a tank. I'm going to sell my old 40g breeder to my one of my housemates for 70 bucks if it fits in his gfs apartment.
 
I need to make a trip for a large salt purchase in the next week or so. It would have to be early tuesday, to be back before 1pm in townsend. I have a quad cab truck, so the tank would not be a problem.

It's been every Tuesday in December and Jan I believe. I thought for a bit I might be able to get my tank at 30% off, but the first thing it says in the fine print exceptions list is aquariums. :-( Will let you know russellqueen if I plan on going up then. Just curious what type of salt are you buying?

ya thats what they told me.. so i took 30% off my stand which still saved my like $180... but after taxes it really wasnt that big of a break lol
 
Lol yeah stupid taxes. Always forget about that stuff. That would be one big reason to have a nice large LFS that was actually in state. Unfortunately I can't afford a nice stand, so if I buy anything else there it may be another bag of sand only giving me a couple dollars off. Wouldn't even cover gas money.

I am going to get KENT, which has been working very well for me. If you need cinder blocks to build a temporary stand I have a bunch of them that I will not be using for my project they ar yours if you want them. You can make just about any sized stand that you want out of them.

I think my travel day will be monday so let me know if anyone needs anything.

I may be going up to TPP today if we get the stand done today. I may take you up on a couple of blocks as I will be setting up a tank hopefully outside of my room to breed shrimp and guppies for feeders. I think my next animal I will be getting in the future will be a frog fish of some sort. With the eel coming and the freshwater fish I have already, it may be nice to have some gutloaded, tank raised, disease free feeders on hand.

FYI Stores don't get any or many shipments around the holidays not b/c they cannot but b/c too much stuff is going on in the airports around the holidays and when a box of fish gets "lost" for a short time its deadly and a big mess for the store to deal with.
 
RUSS, do you think I may be able to ride along? I bought some things last night that I am probably going to need to exchange. They also didn't have the two things I went there for and I am hoping they will get them in soon.

Everything is going down this weekend. I have just about enough water made and will be aquascaping dry fri-sat, then filling after aquascaping.

return is 1 1/2 flex. drain will b 2" to help with gravity flow.
 
its kinda the same distance lol.. im moving from smyrna to clayton which is 5 minutes closer north, but is also 5 minutes to the west.. lol

the stuff iv been ordering for my 180 has been coming in all week still just need to order my tunze, and a return skimmer... i think im going to go with a barracuda... i of corse still need to figure out what im going to do about live rock..

what sucks about the move is its new construction and there is no comcast in the neighborhood yet so im going to be with out TV and internet for like 3 weeks!!! OUCH
