That's "Mr Turtle" to you tubby!

I hope the next pictures you post is not of one of the kids after they tried to play with Mr. Turtle.

That reminds me of a few weeks ago there was a baby bat on our driveway sleeping, I guess it fell or got knocked out of a tree, we were taking pictures of it and I bent down close to look at ( it was at dusk) at the same time it raised up and flew off. Being the great Mom I am, with out thought I grabed my son and pushed him out in front of me. It scared me. My son thanked me for using him as my protection.

Shortly after that video, Mr Turtle ( I just called him Mr. T) got released into some lakes near the house. He was more than graceous to me as I let him go, turning around and lunging at me for good measure, just to make sure I got "the message."
He'll be living the high life now; feasting on ducklings, fish, frogs, and inquisitive children's fingers.

aligator snapping turtle lucky he didn't bite you strong enough to take a finger off or at least cut you to the bone, the pitt bull of turtles. Thanks for rescueing him!

Hey Barrett, I am the same way.I will stop to pick up turtle on the road. That one is a common snapping turtle, alligator snapping turtles have large scutes or ridges on thier back,we caught one that was around 100lbs while swamping. It is wierd to step on one while in knee deep water.

I'm well versed in my animules from boy scouts. He was no threat to me, in so far as I made sure to NOT make my fingers available for any quality time with his mouth!.
I passed him and realized he was alive so I busted a u-ie and prayed no one would grease him before i got back. He was about to take a ride in the passanger seat floorboard, but turd burgler started lunging at me while I was carrying him to the car, so he got to ride in the trunk.
Its always a pleasure to rescue wildlife. I wish more people would take the time to do it.

that spot right outside of Jackson (where the marsh is) gets my full attention in the summertime if I drive by. I usually rescue a couple a year out there.

What really freaks my wife out is when I stop to get a snake on the road. The area you are talking about is the hatchie wildlife refuge. It is a nice place explore.
