Been a while after I built the first scrubber.
So here is an update.
I needed a scrubber that was 100% contained. My filter is in my basement and if you have a basement, there already damp cold places. So humidity is a big issue for me. Everything down here is sealed up and contained. My whole system only looses about a gallon a week from evap.
Anyway, my first rev I cut away windows in the side of the box for the light fixtures. I did this because I thought the plastic would filter to much light out. Well, it really does not filter it out. It acts more like a diffuser. So when I built my second one I thought I would try it with the light going through the plastic. This ended up being better because it got rid of any hot spots, I get much more even growth. In addition, it keeps the salt spray out of the lights which makes the bulbs last longer and not corrode. So I replaced the original one with the new design. Now we have two boxes up. I'm seeding new screens to replace the old ones. I just zip tie up the new one next to the old one and it seeds it really quick. Then its off to the new box.
