The Aquarium - Customer Appreciation Day - Sat. May 16

Just thought folks should know.
Last year all livestock was 50% off.
Who knows what they'll do this year.
And free hot dogs and soda and stuff.

I got yelled at and completely hassled by a cop the last time I went to their customer appreciation sale. I vowed never again. hah hah.

You can hit it up on the way home... :) Customer Appreciation day is always too crowded for my taste... But 50% off livestock is pretty sweet...

I knew it would be ridiculous there, thats why I didn't bother... I think Dana might have picked something up... Not sure though...

I went by there to check it out and enjoyed looking around. There were some good deals on rainbowfish and tetras if I wanted them, but I do not have the urge to stock up on my freshwater tank -- even though most of its inhabitants are now bottom-fish such as catfish and loaches. I figure I'll save my money for the Frag Swap.

But the chili-dogs were pretty good. I didn't have to buy my boys lunch. ;)

P.S. I just bought 5 nerites from Aquatic Marine for $1 each. :)

It is in Powell less than 5 minutes from my house. :) See the sticky post at the top of the forum for address and phone number. It is kind of off the beaten path behind DeRoyal and Crowne College.

That's awesome!

I keep saying we need to grill out hotdogs in front of the store but then again...I'm always up for grilling hot dogs.

I decided to pass this year... I don't eat lips and buttholes... I mean hotdogs, am fully stocked on the freshwater side of things, and their coral selection, quality, and especially pricing is simply not competitive, even at 50% off... I'll never forget the time I asked about the price of a ricordea... It was listed at $29.99/polyp on the little sticker, but they interpreted that as per mouth, which resulted in them wanting like $120 for it. I decided to pass and got an 11-polyp pack online for $95 shipped. :)

so if it's half off does that mean we get it for msrp?

no disrespect to the aquarium but 2.99 a nerite snail is not cool.

I'd say I told you so, but it looks like you could have told yourself. ;)

I try not to be a poopy pants if you know what I mean and I did go by there giving them the benefit of the doubt but honestly everything was 3x msrp and if you took 20-30% off (hence 80% of the stuff wasn't 50% off) then you're still paying double the price for stuff you can get at the The Coral Reef for a reasonable price and TCR MUCH better customer service. OK, i'll stop now.

i went for a couple koi and pond plants...but decided to wait on the plants since the contractors have turned my little 3-day job into a month and i still don't even have the liner.

so i got a couple koi and a little scat which is really neat. not the best swimmer...but he's now figured out where the powerheads are now and avoids them. he kinds looks like this but has more red:
