Have you noticed that certain fish prefer to hang around in one area or the other? Or do they all utilize the whole space?

i really have to say that most of the time the fish like to stay near to the drop, only sometimes they swim through the shallow part of the reef, but i also guess it would make a difference if i had some more "swimming" fish like some Centrophyge or something like that
