the BEAUTY:
well here i am 10 mos into my reefing adventure!
our family is totally immersed, addicted, and loving it! we have 3 tanks reef/fowlr/mini reef and have spent thousands of dollars on this hobby (hundreds more on electricity) and literally hundreds of hours dedicated to getting things RIGHT!. we have learned so much about the marine environment and we have a beautiful 210 gal system LPS/softies set up in our living room and besides having had a phosphate problem for mos that was later fixed w/ phoph reactor/media - we havent had any major problems and i would say things have been for the most part smooth sailing
the BEAST:
long story short 7 mos ago purchased beautiful piece of LR w/ 2 ricordea attached - a real showpiece! - LFS told us this piece came w/ an anemone attached - real nicely colored bubble tipped anemone... we thought we had something pretty neat!

its interesting to see veteran reefers having to tear down their systems bec these pests grew out of control in their systems - also see attached photos in above link of the majano taking over the tank
the BEAST is not just majanos!
flatworms, aiptasia, bryopisis, hydroids and an entire list of other hitchhikers and things that many of us unsuspectingly be observing on a daily basis in our systems -
that could have been (more or less) simply prevented had they been informed and realized the importance of QT!

this quote is borrowed from a fellow RC reefer which i have read in more then one of his postings... and is a good one to place in big letters on our QT tanks!
