The Best SMALL Fish for Hair Algae Control?

I don't think you really need a fish to eat hair algae, but my vote would be for the tailspot blenny. it's one of my favs. I would just get some astrea snails as well, they're slow but they do a really good job.

adding a fish will probably only worsen the situation until you find the route to your hair algae problem. you will probably feed more food by adding another fish hence adding more nutrients to feed your algae. whats your phosphate and nitrate levels, your lighting, your lighting duration, is tank getting ambient sunlight? how often and how large of water changes do you do. how many fish do you have and how much do you feed daily? have u recently used flatworm exit or redslime remover ........on and on and on and on.... after answering all of these i feel you will be able to pinpoint what is feeding your algae and not just band-aid the problem with a fish or invert that will be hit or miss in solving problem

2 fish that I have experienced that actually ate hair algae is only rabbitfish and sailfin tang. Other fishes will not eat HA effectively. Turbo snails will only eat small HA not big ones.

Rabbitfish is by far the best HA eater.
