The corals have to feed: did you know it?

Did you know that corals are predatory creatures and thus need to be fed in order to maintain their health? Corals adopt various techniques to feed themselves, but all share the characteristic of having a digestive system and a mechanism for capturing food from the water. In fact, most hard corals use nematocysts to stun their prey and then draw it into their mouth. Other corals secrete a web of mucus that collects food and brings it to the mouth. Yet others filter the water to find nourishment. But remember, all need to eat, don't let them go hungry!
