I have been reading about it and cannot solve my problem.
There are many microbubbles but that isn't my concern at this point.
In order to dump the collection cup you have to shut down the skimmer, great design.... and when I turned it back on the skimmer wasn't producing nearly thr amount of bubbles it was before. I cleaned the pump, which didn't need to be cleaned but I still have the problem. It seems that the more water in the sump the less bubbles the skimmer produces, it never did that before.
BTW I hvae only had the skimmer about 3 weeks.

check this out. I just shut it off and plugged it back in, now there are NO bubbles at all!
then I did that again and now there is about the same amount of bubbles as before
there seems to intermidant amounts of bubbles... it pulses the bubbles.
what the hell is happening?

Sounds like the venturi is plugged with salt.

It sounds like the Silencer, air hose or the nipple that connects the air hose to the pump is clogged. If it is only 3 weeks old then I would say it is probably the silencer is clogged with salt. Take the silencer off and see if you see an improvement in bubbles. If so soak the silencer in some hot water for a few minutes,making sue the water gets into the silencer. Try that and let us know.

It sounds like the pump is too deep, raise it to about 2" from the water level

Cristhiam has a good point, how far under the water it the pump?

The silencer is the round thing that the air hose connects to.

I think it was mainly the silencer b/c after cleaning it, the silencer made noise and thats what happened when I first got it... it wasn't making any noise prior to cleaning it. and I did take off about 2" from the pump tubing making it about 3" from the surface.

yall are good... maybe you could help me get rid of the micro-bubbles in the tank
