Uhh, not so sure that is a Durso design, Anne. That seems more like a Herbie design, adapted to an internal weir. One drain, the shorter one, does almost 100% of the work, completely submerged, quiet. The other, the taller one, goes to work for whatever little excess does not go down the short drain, or as an emergency. Durso is one drain only, with a nipple that acts both as an air intake as well as an anti-siphon, usually noisy due to the mixing of air and water as the water drains.
Just wanted to make sure the right name got the right credit.
Good idea! :beer:Ah. got it
Thank you for your compliments Rybren. It is really inspiring to know I've got some readers out there. :lolspin:Annetje,
Thank you for sharing your build and sense of humour with us. I am really enjoying your thread.
The aquascape looks great!
Nice thread & I love the pictures. Looks like you are off to a good start.

PS a beer & a smile are plenty enough to get a man to help you![]()
Wow one of the first build threads that I actually take pleasure in reading vs looking at pictures. Your doing a great job, keep up the great work.
Never underestimate the powers if an old man and his skills. I had called out an AC repairman and he took me(and my wallet) for a ride and the unit still failed. I called a different tech and the person who was at my door was an elderly man (in his late 80's) wearing an adidas running suit circa 1977 and a rainbow sweat band. He fixed my AC unit in 10 minutes and then fixed the pool motor I was working on for 2 days in under 5 seconds and only charged me $20. Seriously.
Sent from my who cares they all do it now.
