no, that's a coven of simple rock anemones.
a.k.a. flower anemones.
the purple rock is actually aquacultured.
man made.

The anemone is HUGE!! Would recommended a turbos snail or 2 but otherwise nice build! How many gallons is it?

Thanks,my nem gets direct sunlight every day in the florida room. I will be getting my first skimmer this weekend (Reef Octopus)HOB B1000.My tank runs high nutrient due to my daily feedings of the suns and phytoplankton.+1 on the snails I need to make a trip to Fintastic this week

Oh, Its a 55gal,Quad C/F lighting ,HOB Emperor filter, 2 550 Korilla P/Hs. The airstone was a test I did to aid in getting my skimmer for fathers day, above the tower of bubbles on the glass cover is?, you guessed it skimate goo! I'll get some better pics of my black suns, the yellows started out w/5 heads in November and now is 20+. The tank is maxed out on fish at this point. 1 Foxface,1mandrin,1 yellow watchman w/tiger pistol shrimp,3 firefish,1 lawnmower blenny,2 clowns,and 1 green chromis that is the origional occupant from a year and a half ago. Corals include 1 birdsnest,green star polyps,pulsing xenia,5 different colonies of shrooms,1 large finger leather,2 large hairy mushrooms 1 red and 1 purple montipora,5 kenya trees ,4lg featherdusters,1 ora toadstool and 20+ snails and blue hermits. Definently a full tank. Oh and a couple epic sized bristle worms!!

I saw max's tanks when I went to his house and he's got some awesome pieces. A lot of his fish and corals have been with him for several years, it's shows a lot of dedication on his and his family's part. That's when you can really enjoy this hobby. I was of the mind that my wife never listened to much that I said but after the last few trips to the LFS it's clear that she has developed an interest as she corrected me on a couple I.D.'s. 29 years of marriage and we're still sharing interests, how cool is that?

My wife didn't have much interest in the tanks for years. She liked looking at them, but would never go to any LFS or anything. Then I bought her a tank for her office. Now she goes to the LFS every week and does her best to empty my frag tank when I'm not looking.....
