Well I have a mated and breeding pair of Ocelleras clowns now. Here's the happy couple.

Someone who was getting out of the hobby. I bought tanks fish and all related equipment from them.

I didn't even think to ask how old they are. I know they have to be at least a year old before they will start breeding. I have a pair of True percs that are less than 8 months old and they aren't.

Great going Lt. now all you need is a greenwater culture, some rotifers, and a few other ditties and you are ready to go. BTW, I have an idea for a setup where you won't have to do all those pesky and expensive water changes just to keep ammonia in check.

I'm all ears!!!

Eppp. I'm not ready and they are in the mood it looks like. They are cleaning their cleaning their spot where they are going to lay the eggs right now as I type this. They weren't even interested in dinner tonight.

OMG I have eggs. Hundreds of them!!!!!!!!! They are hard to see in the photo but they are there!!!!!!

Tell us more! Whats going on now? How are you going to try and raise the fry? What special things do you do for the eggs to hatch? How long does it take for the eggs to hatch?

errr. Well I wasn't ready for this to happen so soon and it would appear that I interrupted them in their spawning so they went and ate all the eggs...... as of right now I have two fat happy fish and no eggs that i can see. 14 days give or take a few till the next cycle then maybe.

Jason I could use that contraption you have in mind!!!! I have 14 days till they spawn again.

that explains my damsel couple. I swear every two weeks they lay eggs, she acts all protective of her nest and then a few days later the eggs are gone and they lay again about a week later. They have been doing this continusly for over 3 months now.

Well here we go again. They are both in the same pot and Mr. O is acting like he’s having full time seizures. Mrs. O is in there with him watching him do his thing.

Damn the storm yesterday knocked the power out and they were interrupted again..... Oh well still not fully ready for them to spawn and grow the clutch out.... Oh Jason about that contraption you have in mind. Would still love to hear about it!!!!!

Argh!!!! My "Swiss clocks of the aquatic world" must be broke. So much for the every 13-15 days. Looks like I'm on some other crazy cycle with these two. She is in there laying eggs like crazy with him pampering her all the way..... and this is AFTER I added rock in the tank this afternoon.

I got my fingers crossed right now that this storm don't knock out the power and spook them again!!!!!! Keep your fingers crossed and I'll update as events happen.

Well I still have eggs today. Hundreds of them. The bottom of the flower pot (no Ron not the coral type LOL) is covered with them. Both of them are in there "protecting" the eggs. So far so good.

the presentation Phil gave us about the clown fish came in handy huh? You probably already knew most of it, I did't know any of it. :)
