i was going to get the octuras : 1435-2035-1440- and the 1.75 *******. so i can call octura and they will sell me however many i want or do i have to buy a ton?

There's no minimum limit on what you can buy directly from Octura. Only thing is everything is done via phone or snail mail so it can be a bit of a PITA.

octura will sell you as many as you want at like $1.15 a piece but you have to pay like $8 shipping and another $8 CoD because they don't take credit cards. you can however send them a check and skip the CoD charge but depending on where you live that can take like 2 weeks for the whole turn around . the whole process is ridiculous.

They seriously need to consider taking credit cards or at least paypal. I'm sure everyone would gladly pay the 3% surcharge. guess most their business is to hobby stores and it doesn't matter. I'm sure we make up a minuscule amount of their business.

ok. got it1 should i get a end cap for the large prop or the small, are they worth it?

if you are confident that you can get the shaft properly centered than skip it. If not ...

I think its one of those things where ya need to decide whats more important your time or your money .

yeh, thats exactly what i thought when i was posting....enough of that, i got the stuff coming and should be modding in no time. hopefully!

Even with the caps, I seem to be having a hard time getting mine centered. I don't know if the SS rod they sold me has a slight bend or what, but its damn frustrating.

YMMV.

Daniel-

Did you order their shroud too or did you cut your own? If you did it yourself did you use SCH80 or SCH40 and what size? It's possible that your shroud is not completely straight. Make sure your shroud sits leveled.

one thing im curious about tho is the 1 1/2 pvc adapter that has thread on one end was the only thing that seemed to fit snug aroung the test cap. are the slip couplings and other pvc fitting snug or is there a way to connect? do ya just use a lot of glue?

Well, I got pretty much everything from mjmods...and in the process of seperating the existing impeller (for the MJ1200), the black disc type thing that attaches to the magnet seperated from the magnet (the opposite end of the magnet from the impeller portion). So, I'm assuming I need to glue that back down to the magnet? Reason I ask, I ran it with a prop and it vibrated and rattled like crazy...Also, I did not glue the end of the CF rod into the end cap, is that neccessary to hold the rod still?

Why don't you just remove the rest of the plastic innards and put the rigid tube through the magnet instead? It work s better that way anyhow as we have recently found out.

Got my Octura 1470 props today....ha ha ha...buwah ha ha buwah buwah ha ha ha...

FWIW, they have the high pitch and are 2.75" across. Time to hook em up to the Hi-Spec 5000/901 I have and let er rip!!!

I got a Dumas 3004 but I am having problems with making the shroud. I have the 1.5" coupler but how do I attach it to the PH? Its oversized for the MJ1200 - just slightly -

Also, do I understand correctly that the closer the prop is to the end of the shroud the wider the water stream would be? So, in general how far do I have the prop away from the edge? The coupler I bought is only 2 3/4" deep.

Thanks for everyones help. I did look in this huge threat before I asked the questions, I just could not find it :( sorry if I am repeating past questions.
